FRIDAY, NOV 13 // 7:00 - 8:30 PM
For over two decades, Massamba Diop (best known for his playing on the Black Panther series soundtracks) and Tony Vacca (American percussionist, composer, and producer) have been bringing together the traditions of their music and the peoples of their countries with the group they created together, the Senegal-America Project.
Together they weave a legacy of tradition and innovation that feels a lot like the future of where music can take them…and us all. Their collective sound is a wild ride through World Fusion, Mbalax, Jazz, Funk, Blues, and exquisite vocals, and it often finds its way into something… beyond what even they were envisioning.

“We are out to reveal the flow…the tapestry of rhythmic and melodic patterns that connects music’s ancient origins with what our music is becoming. We want to take us all to places beyond where we’ve ever been. We are swimming in miracle waters in a miracle time, and we’re hoping to entice our audiences into this bold journey with us.”
